Are These Good To Start Film Cameras?

My father used to do Photography (hobby, like me) when he was younger. I was wondering if these are good for me to get started with it. Also, how would I process the film and turn it into digital?
Starting with the cameras he has: Mihama six, Minolta 7000 Maxxum, Pentax ME Super.
Lenses: takumar-a 2x teleconverter, mc 1:2.8 starblitz auto macro, smc pentax-M 1:2 50mm, minolta maxxum af 50mm 1:1.7(22), Minolta AF 70-210 f/4, starblitz mc auto zoom c-macro 1:4.5 f=80-200m

With all due respect, if you have the cameras in front of you, why are you asking us? Just shove some film in there and get shooting. Even if they're not the best film cameras to learn film photography on (which, incidentally, they actually probably are--that's a pretty fantastic trio of cameras to give you an overview of what it's like to shoot film), you already have them, so why not use them?

Google "film developing [whatever city you live in]". Go there. Ask them to develop your film and put it on a CD.

You can also get yourself a film scanner and scan it yourself, but it's a huge hassle.

You can also develop it yourself, but it's a huge hassle. A huge and often very rewarding hassle, but a huge hassle. Don't shell out the money for darkroom supplies until you're sure this is a hobby you're going to stick with.

This is a great start setup. Bin the starblitz's and get a wide angle for the pentax (35 or 28mm) and you're golden. If you shoot tele, do it with the minolta as that 70-210 "beercan" is kind of a legend.

those minolta lenses are EXCELLENT even on A mount sony alphas... try the 7000 out and see if it still works right, the beercan and the prime won't disappoint.

ME Super is very nice. Shoot some auto, then transfer to manual and adjust with the light meter. Put some film in it, put some batteries and go with it.

Pentax K mount, which is pretty much backwards and forwards compatible with everything, minus a few weird outliers.

agreed - I had a Sony A65 a few years ago, and shot LOTS of photos using the Minolta glass. it's pretty easy to find used Minolta lenses on the cheap if you hit some pawn shops and thrift stores...

I just scored a Minolta AF 50/1.7 at a thrift store for about thirty-seven cents. I've already got one, and I barely own a Minolta camera body to put them on, but I couldn't resist the bargain.

I've never heard of it, but I googled it and found:
1. Small, with a folding lens
2. Shoots 6x6 frames on 120 film.

The 7000 is a pretty unsatisfying camera to use desu. I remember shutter latency and slow AF. Plenty of newer, more usable models around though.

Seconding the Minolta lenses.

I bought an a7ii just so I had a digital body to use my Minolta lenses on.

The 50 OP has is pretty awesome prime, and the 70-210 (affectionately called a beer can) is a pretty solid tele zoom.

It was literally the first successful AF SLR.

If you want a good a-mount film body, look at the Dynax 7 (almost every single one has had the rubber grip wear off the back or get sticky, but even so it is an awesome camera) or Dynax 9 (if you can find one with the SSM/SAM update)

Also I have to ask. I just looked at it again and that 6x6. is actually called a Mihama Seiko. and I can't find anything about it. I thought it was the Mihama six but the viewfinder is different and on the side, it's saying Mihama Seiko instead of Mihama six. If anyone can help it would be appreciated.

and how expensive would it be?not going to sell it I would just like to know.
