Just gonna leave this here...
https://youtu.be/TBB-CvqjdCEMy D2Hs literally lived outside for 3 weeks straight with a kit lens, through some of the roughest biomes of the US; deserts, badlands, Yellowstone, rainforests, sand dunes, beaches, and the rapid temperature changes of the west in spring. Heavy rain, sand, salt spray, dust, single digit bodies don't give a fuck at all. A few months earlier it was in Yellowstone for the winter, routinely getting completely covered in snow while sitting on a tripod and cheerfully clicking away at -40 degrees.
Meanwhile my D80 gave up the ghost before it even hit 20k clicks. D2Hs still going, but upgraded to a D3s last year after a brief tryst with a D300. I feel like I can never go back to the lower-end bodies. (Pixel for pixel I found the D2Hs more pleasing in most situations, and ergonomics and general performance were no contest.)
