I wonder if you're doing something super creepy to creep these girls out if you're not even getting a thank you. I do photoshoots all the time and not only do they almost always thank me, most of them give me a hug after the shoot.

I've found this too. When I'm concentrating on the photography, I get a heck of a lot better photos than when the model indicates she wants to fuck me and I spend a lot of the shoot fooling around.

The model's baseline job is already to be an object to be posed, you know? And women (in my experience) don't like to be solely objectified. The hard work of the photographer is in coaxing some expressiveness out of a static scene. It's much easier if the model feels some agency, ie she's not just a sex object

Couldn't compartmentalize the feels.
rationalizes that the reason for the lack of enthusiasm he and the models feel for the project must be because of the sexual tension.

It's only a problem because you let it be and the mood is infectious and wrecks it for the models.

So yeah, I feel sorry for you. You are holding yourself back man.

This all assumes consensual things are taking place between adults and it's not a licence to be a creep.

It see it more like, my camera got me into plenty of adventures, but the adventuring didn't necessarily lead to better art.

Like, one shoot with this model I've been working with, she pulls out her collection of bikinis and lingerie because that's what she expected people to like. None of those pictures were memorable. Nudes are a dime a dozen.

Later shoots we'd flood her basement with balloons, or shoot her with lasers, or get her abducted by aliens, or have her glamorously rob a bank. We were still fucking, but we worked together much better when she wasn't trying to be generic sexy. She got more invested in the work (and so did I) when the photos were saying more than "look how hot I am, people want to fuck me."

Plus, I get the impression that 99% of the people who work with models just want hot people to be hot, so models get tired of that. Tits are like the easiest way to get meaningless likes, you know?

That's just been my experience.

Next time just get into urban landscape WITHOUT people. I don’t understand, people are NOT photogenic. Portraits defeats the artistic purpose of photography. Humans don’t have shapes and photography is much more meaningful if you can capture interesting shapes and colors and lines from uninteresting everyday objects. Humans are neither linear or shapey.
