Before you even put film in it, check your focusing screen.
Push down on it a bit. If it moves, then the foam that holds it in place is degraded and should be replaced.
Alternatively, attempt to focus to infinity. If you can't get a tree or powerpole at least 50 metres away to come into crisp focus, this is another indicator that you have this problem.
Both of my S2a bodies came with this problem.

If you find you have the problem, but don't have the tools or time to fix it right now and just want to go shoot, just remember to stop down (like f/11) or focus using the marks on the helicoid, and just use the screen for composition.
ALSO, if the gears in your back sometimes slip/grind a little when advancing the film, rather than just gritting your teeth and continuing to fuck them out more, you can give it a hand by manually turning the smaller knob on the back itself to advance the film, and then cock the shutter separately with the big winder.
The design of the film advance is pretty clever, in that even if the gears skip, you don't get overlapping or missed frames, as long as you wind until it stops.
