In case you missed it wider lenses are much more in fashion for portraiture thanks to the prevalence of smartphone photography changing peoples expectations of "normal" fov for a photo.
35 is my go to for nearly everything involving humans, 70-200 mainly gets used for landscapes and abstractions. I also downsized to an f4, as it's sharper, smaller and f2.8 is just bokeh soup unless you're framing like a retard.
