a6300 and the Star Eater issue

No.3172479 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
So, I'm a bit lost here.

I know the Star Eater issues is affecting both the A7x line and the A6xxx line.

Though, most information on this issue I can find on the internet are about the A7x line.

-At first, Star Eating only manifested itself on bulb mode.
-Then, after a firmware upgrade on the A7x line, it started doing this shit for exposure greater than 4 seconds, making it worse.

I know the issue is the same for the a6xxx series in bulb mode. But can I safely upgrade my a6300 (which is still on firmware 1.0)? What I definitely don't want is doing the update and then getting the Star Eating issue after 4sec of exposure, like the A7x line. I don't care if it does it in Bulb mode since I never use it, but after mere 4sec of exposure is a no-go.
