if you’re talking movies with really beautiful or interesting cinematography here are a few I really like
for more naturalistic-imagery people:
-No Country For Old Men (and about ¾ of all the other Coen Brothers flicks)
-In the Mood for Love (fucking so beautiful and sad- and also unconventionally filmed with concepts and emotional notes as cues for scenes, not a script or written dialog. the density of stellar shots is probably more than in any other movie I know of.)
-Woman In the Dunes
-Andrei Rublev
-Nobody Knows (and everything else by Hirokazu Kore-eda)
-Tree of Life
-The Thin Red Line
for obvious-set-and-lighting people:
-Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters (the most visually interesting biopic you will ever watch)
- Only God Forgives
-the original Metropolis by Fritz Lang
also,
>>3178867>>3179243 Blade Runner and Drive are both great.
...i guess i should probably head over to /tv/ with this shit, sorry if that was too much guys. just happened to be a crossover of a couple of my fav tings. i was a cinematography major where i shot film and have been shooting stills for like ten years on mostly film. i'll post some screenshots.
>tldr; watch In The Mood For Love
