Since when can you not focus a lenses faster than f/2.8?
I have several f/1.8s and they focus just fine,land as do my 1.2 lenses since they are manual.
The diopter correction is for a!persons eye variation, not for the purpose of lens correction.
I use a lot of manual lenses so AF is really not a problem, and when l do use it, l move the AF point where l want it. If you need your AF to be intelligent then you have some real problems.
Those focus modes l do not need. So who really cares in the real world.

You see l know what my camera does, so l know what l am getting while l shoot. Also faster since l am not having to review each shot first.
Blown out highlights only happen if you don't know what your camera does in the first place. I know actually knowing how to shoot without tech is a foreign concept, but just maybe you should try it sometime.
