"We have therefore defined low-light ISO as the highest ISO setting for a camera that allows it to achieve a SNR of 30dB while keeping a good dynamic range of 9 EVs and a color depth of 18bits. A difference in low-light ISO of 25% equals 1/3 EV and is only slightly noticeable."

Since most cameras don't allow you to change the ISO in anything more granular than a third of a stop, presumably they're extrapolating the ISO vs. SNR/Dynamic range/color depth from the plotted values. So 4489 because y=mx+b for that camera at that point.

The DxOmark scores aren't bad. People just don't know how to interpret them. And they don't know how to interpret them because they, like you, are too dumb to click on the 'About' link that will let you access all of their methodology and explanations.

The IMC161 sensor is from 2014 and use old technology that's equivalent to D800/D810.
So it's more like ~5 points ahead of its Full Frame equivalent.

Backside illumination technology is coming in 2018 with the IMX461. So that means 2019 for the launch of next generation MF cameras with upgraded modern sensors.
That's the next generation MF sensor with added video capabilities Fujifulm CEO talked about. But it's going to rip a hole in your Wallet.
Sony isn't going to sell these for cheap. The IMX161 is already a very expensive thing to manufacture as it is.

MF starts at "Larger than 24x36mm". Film medium format started at 645 (and even then, it was rarely quite 6x4.5cm), but digital medium format starts smaller than that and currently has 645 as the top end.

Just because medium format started out at 645 back in the days of film—which, incidentally, isn’t actually even true, since I can name at least one medium format camera that shot 4x4 off the top of my head—doesn’t mean that the entire class of digital cameras with sensor sizes between 24x36mm and 6x4.5cm need to have some new “not medium format but bigger than 35mm FF” category when the term medium format is there, makes sense to everyone, and fits perfectly well.
