Two new Star lenses announced by Ricoh, that is actually a good news for most crop users.
The D-FA* 50/1.4 for full frame and the DA* 11-18/2.8 for APS-C
Both lenses will have the AW weather sealing package to be expected from a star lens as well as a new ring type AF motor under the SDM designation. The "new ring type" will hopefully be the same Sigma and Tamron uses as HSM and USD drives. By my experience those are fast and bulletproof.
With the Star designation the lenses will be in-house designs and like earlier DA* lenses it will likely be licensed to Tokina, so Canon, Nikon and Sony crop users will also get a new fast high quality UWA zoom option.
Expected dates are 2018 spring for the D-FA* 50/1.4 and 2018 summer for the DA* 11-18/2.8
