Our angle is that we do the whole shebang, plus we fly as we shoot so no need to hire a pilot or any of that, we just do it ourselves.
If you can manage to do that, then yeah you can make a living. I dont think there are many people that can though, and if they can, they use slow ass 172s or something where there are struts and gear in the way, we use high performance complex airplanes for best results. flying a complex over a busy downtown with choppers and other sightseeing traffic everywhere and controlled airpsace inches above your head when the afternoon rush is heading into the nearby international... all while staying correct position from target and shooting (zoom, focus, polarizer setting too)... it gets pretty fucking insane not gonna lie lol.
