So I got a question. I currently own a Canon Rebel T5i. I took it to some sand dunes on a windy day and, as you can guess, it got sand damage. Now it only turns off if I completely remove the battery. The dial doesn't work, as well as the off/on/video selecter. I can still take pictures and videos though, in whatever settings I want, it's just a lot more of a pain in the ass. Not being able to turn the camera off either is a real drag.

So I was considering getting a new camera. Wanted to stay in the Canon family because of the lenses I already have that still work fine.

I was looking at cameras like the 70D as well as the 80D as I want to get more into video. But I'm not sure if they are enough of an upgrade form the T5i that I shouldn't just get it repaired.

So the question is, do I repair my T5i or do I go and spend the cash on a new camera such as the 70 or 80D?

Thanks.
