I'm looking on ebay for a decent light meter and so far I'm flooded with "Vintage" and "Rare" bullshit.
What brand do you recommend for a light meter? I'm looking for a small older model since there's no need for cables or anything.
Something like pic related or a little older.

if you just need indirect light you could just as well use an app on the phone most likely

Anything that comes with incident, reflected and spot options, and that can do all of those without requiring you to apply manual compensation.
Pref something with an optical viewfinder, and pref AA power.
I use a Gossen multisix, and it's a bit of a bitch because the spot meter is a separate attachment you can lose, that you need to manually enter a +3 filter factor for.
Also, it reads out in whole stops only, with fractional stops shown as decimal places.
Also, it runs of 9 volt batteries, and has no fucking off switch.
All in all, it's a cunt of a meter, but it does its job, and I paid $10 for it in an opshop brand new...

Get the cheapest Minolta meter with flash sync you can find and you will be good for quite a while.
