Good evening, /p/

My busy season is slowing down so it's time to post some of the new stuff. As usual, it's going to be a mix of images from the past few months. Had a very busy summer and then had nearly 6 weeks of autumn between Canada, Colorado, and Utah.

I'm going to start with a twilight shot from my last day of backpacking in Canada. I've found that Velvia 50 has a very surreal way of rendering this brief window of predawn light, and it only seems to work if you get up into high altitude and have a towering mountain that will catch the light at the right angle. This is about 30 minutes before the actual sunrise, and for just about 5 minutes there is enough light to pull off a Velvia exposure. After that window the sky gets too bright and washed out and then the mountain will get dark and lose the apparent side lighting. The result is about a 2 minute exposure that captures some of the true colors, albeit with a bit of a warm and purple shift in hue.
