No clue, it was the early 1980s and it was a film camera of some kind. I'm not even sure what my first digital camera was. It was just cheap junk until I got a Fuji FinePix later a Nikon Coolpix and now a D3400. I had like 20 film cameras, a handful of disposable cameras, and I can't even remember a single brand name. I think I've taken like 500k photos, but only have like 100k left after house fires and HDD crashes over the years. Damn, now I'm depressed.

To be fair, when I replied to this thread I ignored various Instamatics and cheap, plastic-lens, plastic-bodied, roll-film cameras (where the film wasn't even in a canister) I'd had as a boy and started with my first SLR

One of these. Had a folding bulb-type flashgun as well (the ones where you had to be careful how you ejected the spent bulb as you could burn someone)

I feel you, my first camera was a XSI, I switched it about 2 months ago for a 7D. Having a low tier dslr really makes you appreciate the more professional cameras even more.

I remember going to a photography course for portraits and there was an old lady with a 5D mk. III and a 24-105L. I was jealous, but I took better pictures than her, so it's all good.

Sony Cybershot DSC W130. Terrible autofocus, didn't work in low light, poor optical performance...but it was a hell of a lot of fun. It had P mode (which was already rare among P&S cameras back then) and was small enough to fit in a jeans pocket.

Kept it for a few years until its power motor gave up. Now I shoot a Fujifilm X-E2S.

Yep, same here, started with a Rebel XS. Picked it up at a thriftstore for $60 so I shouldn’t complain. Got a mishmash of okay glass with it but now have an a6300

It was my brother's initially, but he pawned it and other of my family's electronics off to feed his meth habit.
I recovered all of these things, and that is how I ended up with a Nikon D5100 as my first camera when I was 17.
