No it doesn't. A camera is in no way inherently different from any other system operating on a memory card. Could your camera ve buggy and corrupting the filesystem? Yes. Is it? Most likely not. I have seen 0 credible examples of systems which mess up in camera deletion.

My card uses exFAT format. FAT32 fragments the file system to hell and back, like always. exFAT helps prevent that by using free space bitmaps to reduce fragmentation and free space allocation/detection issues.

That's what most people recommend. Formatting after EVERY photosession. I only do that when I forget to delete them via my PC when dumping them and I'm out somewhere.
