Basically this for the smallest option with good image quality and price. If you want an interchangeable lens system do an olympus em10/pen and buy a pancake lens.

Point and shoot cameras are the bane of photography, choose literally anything which can change lenses

if you want to look like "cool vintage art dude" get a used fuji x100/s/t in silver
if you want something to stick in your pocket and be a little "stealthier" get a gr or gr ii
just make sure you convert to b&w and crush those blacks

Honestly either a compact camera like a small mirrorless, or your phone. Make sure you attach it to a lanyard. Trust me you'll know when you get jumped by the wolfpacks on 40th and 8th ave.

The 55 is a crazy high end lens. Most likely he had the cheap 50 to start out with (or even just the crop-coverage 50, since he claims to have just upgraded to the A7) and then upgraded to the Zeiss 55 later but didn’t feel the need to sell the old one.
