GR II vs X70

Polarizing issue I'm sure. I'm choosing one of these now I think because I cannot find a small interchangeable-lens camera that I like, and considering this is going to be used for hiking and vacation, I need a small (and importantly FLAT) camera that I can put in a jacket pocket and not around my neck like a dork.

The Fuji is a little newer and the lack of GR III release worries me (like it will come out right after I buy GR II).

The Fuji also looks better made, nicer to handle. That being said, I returned a Fuji recently because the dials seemed frivolous. Example: if you want to shoot at 1/800, you need to choose 1/640 on the dial, then roll up to 1/800. Want to switch to 1/1000? You can't just roll the wheel to 1/1000, you need to go back to the dial. Etc. So is it just flashy shit?

I'm not sure the GR II's thin-ness and shutter cover matter when so many people complain about dust - like I wonder if I'd be tempted to keep it in a little bag or baby it or something.

For a camera like this, I am 100% not going to use Lightroom etc. "Fuji colors" out of camera is a thing but Ricoh colors look better to me in examples. And I admit I thought the Fuji on camera editing was a cool idea until I saw how there is NO preview of what you're doing - Ricoh on camera RAW to JPG actually has sliders and looks like a neat way to fix a shadow before sending to someone via phone.

Anyway the GR II seems more well regarded, especially here.

Pretend like the $100 cost difference doesn't matter.
