Also, "zoom" is a special term and usually only used with spotting scopes, binoculars, and point and shoot cameras. That's because camera lenses are normally never more than 3x but range 1x to 5x. Like those massive telephoto lens you see sports or wildlife photographers have are normally only 1x. Yet, they can show you good details of the craters of the moon. Which results in a far better photo than say the 83x of the latest Coolpix point and shoot.
