What are some must-have accessories for the x100 series?

>thumb grip
>soft shutter release
>lens hood

Are any of these worth it?

Especially the lens hood. Maybe don’t put a massive clunky accessory on a camera meant to go in a jacket pocket.

I too dont like how much the lens hood adds bulk. The whole adaptor deal adds a lot of length imo.

What about the thumb grip though? Soft shutter release seems pointless too

Maybe the thumb grip, but would wouldn't get one if I used a wrist strap and was always holding the camera at the ready to shoot.

That being said I've used mine with a wrist strap and found I didn't need it.

Button release is dumb, lens hood maybe if you're shooting facing the sun on a bright day? I guess it kinda protects your lens if you bump it into a wall or something. Definitely makes it less sleek.

I currently own
>cable release for long exposures
>tripod for being a camera
>off-camera flash extension for dramatic lighting when I want it

Ive just got the plate grip, little bentax hood, uv filter under the hood and a soft release along with a dsptch strap

Strap is perfect and I usually wear it under my jacket on either back or front

It’s meant to reduce camera shake by allowing a more controlled shutter activation, and it feels better than the tiny original on the cam, especially if you get a concave one.
