I was wondering if bokeh really is a meme? You see all these YouTube kids doing their tutorials and exclaiming you must be a noob if you don't buy f1.2 lenses etc. I'm talking Irene Rudnyk, Jessica Kobeissi etc.
I want to start a career in fashion/editorial photography and from everything I've seen a shallow dof is hardly used unless it's head shots etc. I've been watching the Clay Cook Tutorial and a lot of his shots were at f5.6, f8, or even f11.
So with this in mind, am I a huge faggot for not dropping a shit ton of money on a 24-70 f2.8 or buying the most expensive f1.2 lens, when I'd hardly be shooting at that aperture anyway?
