A lot of these uni professors in the arts are grad students, or they just have a made up rubric in their mind that is based on their own personal tastes and whether they like you as a person or not. Plus most of them are failed artists who only grade based on high school studio art subject matter.
I think your shot is ok. It isn't anything to write home about, but neither is mine. you have the subject in focus and you shot at high enough of a shutter speed that it doesn't have any blur.
Do like Andy Warhol said, make art, then while people are deciding whether they like it or not, make more art.
