completely agree with every single point

aperture priority with 5.6-8 using exposure comp to adjust depending on the light is all you need with just about any type of metering

yfw I work in a camera shop and put cameras in running man mode all day long because I know it's the fastest way to put a camera in auto ISO, fast shutter, tracking AF and burst firing all at once.
Scene modes are great once you educate your dumb ass on how they work.
It's 2018 man, life is too short not to take advantage of the billions in R&D that's been spent to let you take crisp snapshits of your kids and dogs with one button press.
