>>3237350There was some research done many years ago when Prozac was popular. "Creatives" were asked about their experiences with it. The majority surveyed stated it dulled their experience of life and they became less creative. Most stopped taking medication and learned to live with the fact they were prone to depression.
Does your depression have a real detrimental effect on your life? Can you wash yourself, interact with others, eat food? If you can then you probably don't need them. Everyone is mental, it is only an illness when it harms you.
I took anti-depressants for a short time, they made me very short tempered with people around me (not like me at all). A few years later I explained this to my GP as to why I didn't want to try them again. They said it takes a while (trial and error) to find the right one. Fuck that.
As other anons have said, exercise, a good diet, sunshine and "doing things" is probably going to be much more therapeutic. Also talking to someone you can confide in really helps. Saying something outloud or even writing it on an anonymous shadow puppet board can help make it real and not just a jumble of ideas in your head.
tl;dr
>Will taking anti-depressants affect my creativity at all?Yes.
>If so is it worth it ?Probably not.
