If it's a crime to take pride in my craft and the tools that I use to practice and perfect it, then lock me up.
Let me use an analogy to describe taking pictures on a Leica. When I write on my typewriter, I can guarantee you I am going to put more thought into what I write because I don't want to spend another 5 minutes retyping everything I wrote to change a sentence that I decided I don't like at the bottom of the page. On your word processor you can just let your brain take a nap and jot down whatever falls out of your skull then just mop it up later.
And if you have someone writing a book on a typewriter and he can write a masterpiece without your fancy spell check, online thesauruses and automatic grammar formatting, don't you think that would make him a better writer than one who uses all those things, justifying it like you people are justifying needing 9fps and 6 figure iso speeds?
And where is the soul, the character in your spray-and-prayed, mass-produced and batch-processed 1's and 0's? If you're happy with your digital camera, more power to ya, but don't act like Leica shooters are fools trapped in a bygone era, because to anyone who knows what they're doing, you are the one who looks like a fool.
