That sensor was probably a crop factor of at least 5 or 6 which puts the 35mm equivalent at around 40mm, though it could be 50ish if the crop factor were even larger. But aperture is just a geometric function of aperture hole to focal length. The aperture was around 4 to 4.5mm in size of it were a f/1.7 max lens aperture, on a crop factor of 5 to 6 the equivalent depth of field is similar to almost f/9 or f/10. At wide open.
It should be able to still perform well in darkness like a 35mm f/1.7 in theory but the sensor was very small, very very old, and the lens was probably very low quality of build (maybe even plastic) so in reality the sensor was probably medium to high noise anytime except 15EV sunny midday.
So in short it’s not a meme prime, it’s just a meme
