That' just lets you view the image of the thumbnail, not the actual image.

It would be the same as right click view image on a 4chan thumbnail, which is a loq quality thumbnails.

You wan't the original image which Google is not linking to anymore.

They switched the large image on the left from being a thumbnail blown up to the actual image. In Firefox you can right-click on it to, "Save Image as...", just wait for the loading bar at the bottom of the image to finish loading before right-clicking.
