28 - 50 - 135. There.
24mm is too wide for general purpose, 35 is too close to 50mm (and arder to use), 85 is the bastard of telephoto lenses.

f2 and/or whatever wide open is on the lens, f5.6 because it’s sharper than f4, f11 is my goto in daylight but f8 is fine as well. I just like the long distance clarity of f11 which is still wide enough to be sharp without diffraction

28 because 24 is obnoxiously wide, 50 only because it tends to have smaller and faster and cheaper lens than 35 but both are easy to use, 85 because it’s less specialized and can act as both a mild telephoto and a portrait lens

yeah, and 28, 35, and 50 are the same, and so are 35, 50, and 75. In fact 50, 75, and 85 are all basically the same. So are 75, 85, and 100. So in a way, 24mm and 100mm are basically the same too

I use a 24mm lens for everything. For wildlife, I just crop the hell out of it. With my 42 MP sensor, it looks as good or better as wildlife with a M43 camera, and we've come to a consensus that M43 is the new professional standard.

I mean, 24/28 to 35 is a noticeable jump, but I doubt you could tell the difference between a 24 shot and a 28 shot unless they were literally the same scene from a fixed tripod. The main reason 24mm exists as a common focal length is to let 28mm shooters know that they’re lower class peons compared to you.

You can see it looking at lens timelines. Good 28s were introduced in the mid-60s, good 24s in the early 70s. There were wider lenses, of course, but they were either slow, terrible, or both.
