FB replaced Myspace, and now it's already on its way out. Following shortly will be Instagram, once the digital hype marketing bubble goes pop.
The likes of Flickr and DA otoh will persist because of their contents, i.e, their navigable database. I only returned to photography recently and was surprised that the communities on Flickr were as vibrant as I remember years ago, which is why I'm putting my stuff on it, because I can see Flickr will exist another decade from now, but not other websites.
