But build quality wise, I'd place the contaxes a step above. They're very dense and feel more "luxurious" because of the real leather vs leatherette, and the chrome finish is very smooth.
Same goes for everything that moves, the reqind knob, the winding knob, etc., all really smooth.
I'm not recommending them as a replacement for an M, mostly because the wideangle selection is pretty shit. But for the prices they go for compared to an M, they're a bargain, and the lenses too if you like the range from 35mm to 85mm.
