I went to the 2017 show at Somerset House. The BW landscapes that won were pretty cool. Can’t remember a fucking thing about the others...I do remember liking c-type paper the most though.

This is why Sony cameras are fucking awful (despite looking alright on paper) for actual photographers.

These are people who don't know what a good photograph is, how to take one, or who to even ask to find out. Looks like found the flickr user who posted the world's most absolutely hideous HDR landscapes known to man and asked him what he wanted in a camera, and their current product line is the result.

OK, something seemed off here the instant I saw it because it looks like a fucking Blender render. Then I opened it in PS and saw there definitely was.

Then I found it on the site and realized it was entered in the "enhanced" category.

Makes sense now.

They should call may of these "digital artistry" not photography.

It's not as bad as this, but a few months ago I did notice that the main image for the Bald Eagle article on Wikipedia was a terrible shop (eagle is a different resolution than the background, the DOF is virtually impossible, and the eagle is clearly landing not fishing) and pointed it out. So far nobody cares. My discussion entries keep getting deleted, actually. Look:

Nah, I don't think it actually matters. I didn't look at it properly, and just assumed since they have enhanced category that others categories don't allow substantial editing. I can't find specific rules for separate sections, but it's obvious from >>3261916, that they're allowing fair amount of photoshop in all open categories.
