Sensors and recording software produces flat color neutral, contrast neutral images, designed to take perfect, ultra sharp, accurate photos to appease pixel peeping faggots who shit their pants at the slightest if chromatic aberration, or fuzziness at a 400% crop, or slightest bit of vignetting.
old lenses were imperfect, they had little differences between lenses due to them being hand ground, and calculated and designed by hand on paper, film used chemicals that didn't have exact reproduction per development, they added qualities that aren't perfect, the colors aren't accurate, and the images may not be sharp, but the production is nostalgic, it represents a look of an era that people equate with simplicity, imperfection, and a society people look back at in better times from modern society.
