At first you'll try to take a photo kinda stealthily and creepily. It'll be shit, too far away and blurry because you lowered the camera the moment you pressed the shutter.
Then try again. And again. Every now and then, someone will catch you shooting with the edge of their eye. You'll feel stressed/embarrassed.
After it happens a dozen times, you see it;s not that big deal after all and you won't feel that embarrassed.
So next time you'll be a tiny bit bolder, shooting a bit closer and more directly. And then a tiny bit more. And more. Until one day, you realise it's no big deal and won't think much about raising the camera and shooting dead on. And then looking behind your subject as if it's no big deal and you're already looking for your next shot.
Those shitty, creepy shots you took are necessary steps. Keep doing it. It'll get better without you realising it.
