Things he is right about:
1. Exposure stays the same regardless.
2. If you shoot from the same spot with the same focal length and crop to match, depth of field will be identical.
Things he gets wrong:
1. When you don’t do riciculous crops, larger sensors give you much shallower depth of field for a given perspective and aperture commensurate with the crop factor.
2. For similar cameras, as a rule of thumb, a larger sensor gives you less noise than a smaller one at a given iso. So exposure is strictly the same, but ability to get a good shot in low light is reduced in an amount commensurate with the crop factor.
I.e., when comparing two different camera systems, apply crop factor to the aperture for a closer comparison.
