Hey, friend! Could you please help me? I want to take pics like this (that cinematic look, noise, colors). My camera is Canon 1200D. Is it possible to change settings in some mode in it or should I buy a new one?

As you can see, eveything is approximately in the same color pattern (which is very soft) as well in the previous 2 pics

You could either shoot in film on a cheap film camera or play with Picture Style and then throw a preset for a film profile on it. Film is easier though, and emulating a film look on digital is lame as all fuck. If you have a digital camera, stop trying to shoot it like it’s film

I have CANON 1200D and it's a mirror camera. Sorry, I am not a pro or something, but thanks! As I understood, my cam is digital, but to make shots like these I have to buy a film camera, right?

You could edit them to make them KINDA look those those pictures, but then you’re spending a lot of time on each shot. I personally shoot film when I want that look, but it’s up to you. It’s not cheap anymore.

the other two could have as well been shot on a digital camera, especially the second one.

What you want to do is bump up your ISO to get noise (above 1600 or 3200 should do the trick). It's not as pleasant as film grain tho and most people will actually try to avoid it since it washes out the colors and looks messy

Nothing stops you from taking good shots with a current milc or dslr and then messing up the colors like that in camera one or photoshop or whatever you wrangle your colors with.

I found it really interesting, the film cam and film itself are written in discription, but on the last minute he showed how to digitalize them and upload to computer by using some kind of a scanner. What was that? A basic scanner?

Nope. That's obviously impossible. To capture video on film you have to take a exposure for every frame. That takes a fuckload of film.

You can, however, take single photos with a video camera. That's what you are asking about.

Get yourself an old super 8 home movie camera.

The only one I can think of off the top of my head is the new Super 8 cameras that have both.

I'm not sure you can take still film photos with this camera. You'd have make a screen capture.
