Anyone here taken their own wedding/engagement portraits?

I've never been a portrait photographer but I figured it was worth a try before paying someone else. Got the tripod out and tried a few shots.
Mostly in a single location but we'll move around more next weekend.

Is it worth paying $500 for someone to do these or would you just do it yourself with a timer/remote?

We're pretty happy with the general look but I'll put more effort into composition and variety when we do proper shoots.

These are just for invitations and to be on a screen somewhere at the wedding in December.
