So I decided to jump the hipster train and bought a roll of Ilford FP4 Plus which I loaded into a Canon T50 with a Vivitar 75-205

Here are some results.They are obviously shit.
I am opening this thread because most pictures appear improbably grainy to me; far granier than sample images I looked at before having the film developed. I'd like to know why that is.

My theories are:

>They're not, I'm dumb.
>The developer fucked them up
>I fucked up some setting on the camera

What is the most likely case?

For some reason, this one looks less grainy. Which makes it more likely that it was my fault, somehow.

I like the lines but the bag makes it worse, not better.
Maybe it would work with a person there instead. I'm not sure.

Nah, you're right. When I took it I actually put the bag away and back on twice because I was unsure. Don't like it now, though.

Grain is always more visible in areas with only little structure = less contrast. >>3309347 looks oversharpened, >>3309349 is completely fucked by flare.

Thanks. Not sure what you mean by oversharpened, though. I didn't do anything in post but reduce the highlights.

Anyway, so the grain is normal for the film, you'd say?

No, it's too grainy for FP4, but there are many possibilities that might have caused this.

I had them sent into a lab. Took them 4 weeks, too.

Canon T50 has zero to none settings.

I think something went wrong with developing, or you did you buy a fake roll of ilford from ebay?

I know its a rookie mistake (sorry if it offends you), but something happened to me when the iso was not on correct settings (underexposed), so the "lab" had to process it and scan, the results were similar to this. It was also on Canon T50..

Are you aware that if you move the aperture ring on the T50, it locks the shutter speed on 1/60?

Is it maybe the problem it took the lab so long, since they had to correct the photos and thus the different grain on each picture? T50 is only good when everything is left to A + PROGRAM.

I did another roll with a Minolta X-700 that is currently in the lab. I'll wait to compare them.
