>>3312310>Why does this board hate people starting out?Because it hates everything that is even remotely mainstream or obvious. Also it's full of social autists with a chip on their shoulder
>General things you don't like about the photographer community/lifeThe lack of middle ground. Specifically on /p/ people will either love or hate my shots primarily based on their ability to take the same shot- that is, if you do studio work or portraits that nobody here has any experience with you'll get shit all over but if you post a bad night shot of a street from afar with moody tones you'll get 20 replies of facebook-level adoration
That and gearfagging, but that's a symptom of new photographers who don't understand how little it matters
Also tripfags. The only benefit to /p/ over other platforms is that it's anonymous, meaning there should be less "I'm better than you" but because there are a small number of tripfags everyone instantly sets this as the benchmark- that your work says something about you and that anything that isn't great is therefore absolute shit and the person posting it is wasting their time
Trips should be turned off and 95% of the bullshit here would stop overnight and far more photo threads would sprout up over time
>>3312329It's a well crafted image with lots of light and colour- it's well targeted to his audience unlike 99% of instagram users content
What's not to like if you're his audience?
>>3312348>I really can't stand his work.Neither can 95% of /p/, just like most of us don't like Justin Beiber. Doesn't mean there's not a market for them and that they're filling that market well.
>He takes half assed photos and just slaps sparkels on them and a grain effect to hide that the focus is offI was with you up until here. He's not a particularly creative or good photographer but he's good at what he does. Get over it
