I've been into fashion for years and am just getting into photography. I've got a pretty cool clothing collection and a nice body so I wanted to start doing self shot fashion photography so I picked up a DSLR and a tripod.
So far I've found it difficult to capture an interesting photo on a 10 second timer. I'm considering getting a photographer or paying a friend to use my camera, but there are days where I have time to drive out to a nice spot alone and shoot with a tripod so I'm hoping to master this method.
I really like the feel of pic related, I realize it's probably been through LightRoom, but the colors are amazing. I love the contrast between the sand, grass, wall, boots, jacket, and sky.
What are your tips for shooting with a tripod, if any?
What time of day should I shoot?
What programs or techniques do you use for editing with vivid colors like pic related?
And lastly what settings do you use?
I've been shooting on manual and aperture mode the most. Low ISO, small aperture, 1/500 shutter speed, with 18-55mm lense. (usually around 50mm)
If you're wondering why I don't ask /fa/, go look at our waywt threads.
