Well, looking at my 'phone edits' on a computer now and as I feared it's too easy to over cook the little jpegs that snap bridge sends over.

I'm re-editing in LR now. Let me know if this is any better.

Stopped at a steak house, bar & lounge, where the small parking lot was full. So one of the ranchers decided to park his hail dented pickup right up on the sidewalk out front. That's awesome.

I think your graduated ND (or editing, whichever you went with) is too strong.

I like the idea of keeping the bright sky properly exposed, but in this instance the ground looks too bright and the sky looks too dark. The goal is to bring them close to even, and if there's a disparity it should still have the sky being brighter. That's the way real life works and the human brain will subconsciously reject the opposite and cause the image to feel "wrong"

400 is not that high and doesn't usually look like that.
The noise is because I exposed for the sun and recovered the shadows.
Should I have put it back into manual instead of aperture priority? Maybe.
Was it ok for a snapshit at a rest stop.
Probably.
Am I going to print this? No
Is it good enough for my Girlfriend to post on her FB or insta? Yep.

Don't over think it. This was a short unplanned stop on the way to our destination.

Millbrook area.
Bunch of really weird rich people there and people that think they are unironically actual witches. Lol. If you ever get the chance go check it out. It's not a very touristy area desu. There are no chain restaurants or hotels. Just a few bnb's.

The stuff I shoot when my girlfriend is along feels rushed to me. She likes to hike but not stop and wait for good light and the perfect angle.

I also struggle to see good narrow field shots unless I'm looking through the lens. I seem to see the world in a more wide angle sense and can miss interesting details.
I have to force myself to shoot telephoto but the results are often some of my favorites.
