>>3334211Fast 50s are cheaper and easier to make than fast lenses of almost any other focal length. 35 + 85 tends to be the next fastest focal length pair after 50. You won’t find 35s as fast as 50s that will work for APS-C sensor coverage, it I bet there are micro four thirds lenses that are under f/1.
A 35mm f/1.4 will cost more than a 50mm f/1.4. I don’t see why you care so much about speed though. f/2 tends to be fast enough for most dark scenes and still has decent depth of field. F/1.4 is something you’re only going to use on purpose... and if you want to shoot it often, you better get a good lens for it. Soft 1.4 looks like garbage
I recommend checking out the pre-ai Nikkor 50mm f/1.4. Very sharp lens, fits an adapter well. I suggest the Redrock micro adapter if you go this route. Full manual though.
35mm I don’t know much about SLR options sorry. 35 on crop is probably a nice 55mm equivalent. Which is pretty comfy imo.
