Honestly I can't get behind shooting film to end up with a digital file, but that's my opinion. I also can't shoot very much, so I usually end up with a pair of rolls per month, so spending 30€/month between film, developing, and printing isn't a big deal, while the acquisition cost for home processing (including a scanner) is just too much, but again this is me. Still, for someone approaching to film it's better to rely on a lab initially, and then decide while knowing the full costs of the operation.
