>>3339443>close to identicalThe sony is supposed to have better noise control and ibis helps out too
>featuresI agree with the ISO64 thing, I always shoot at 100 whenever I can and I often wish I could go lower instead of using filters or using a faster shutter speed. But the a7iii's entire frame is covered in focus points, 10 fps, silent shutter and ibis. You might not use all of these all the time, but they're there and they're extra features for the same price.
>I still would reach for a D-SLR if I had a choice.Me too, like I said that would be a legitimate reason to choose the nikon
>discount on d8xxGenerally yes, but the original poster was looking for a latest gen flagship and for that it's better to either get the sony or wait for the mirrorless nikon, because they're going to be focusing on that mount from now on. Of course the lenses won't go anywhere and 95% of famous photos were taken on gear worse than the d850, but that's a different discussion entirely.
>>3339445According to two specs sites I just looked up its native range is 100-32000
>>3339470F mount is end of life and new lenses will continue to be made for the E mount. If nikon can re release their lineup as Z(?) mount lenses, or even better, offer to convert your existing lenses for a reasonable price, then it might work out, the point is to have a clear upgrade path without having to sell your glass or having to use adapters.
