That might be true for this one, i tend to crop images in a specific way, which leads to tons of unused place, because i always fear to crop to much away. I might re edit all the pictures, which you criticised!
Well that was just a instagram tier problem, 1:1 tend to be easier to post and also for people - easier to watch, which is why i cropped it that way. At the same time i didn't wanted to delete the left black layer, which is already rather thin, compared to the rest of the image. Going with the 1:1 crop it would have caused the picture to look more uneven if i cropped it differentl.
At the same time it was important for me to show the people who were looking at this picture that it was taken trough the hole inside of a rock, which was casted by the waves. In my 12 days of vaciation in tenerife i only had once the chance to take a picture from this position, because most of the time we had high tide or really strong waves.
