>>3343274Critique and feedback aren't the same as validation. You might show your work to somebody and they don't like it, or have issues with it. What do you do then? And let me put it this way: are YOU happy with the photography you create, first and foremost, and can that be enough, or do other people have to like it in order for you to like it too? Do you shoot for other people, even if it's just a hobby, or do you shoot for yourself?
>>3343298>People probably use it as a way to see if they are improving or even decent as a photographer rather than just you deluding yourself into believing it is goodTrue but you gotta be careful with this shit. The fact that 4chan is anonymous is often seen as beneficial to critique, as its supposed to be from people you don't know, who aren't biased. Problem is, the people critiquing stuff here ARE biased, and their level of knowledge and credibility is completely unknown. Some people will just look at a photo you take and not like it, because it's not their cup of tea. That doesn't mean your image is "bad". Yes, you're given something to think about, but I don't think critique should be seen as gospel.
I think if you really want to grow with the help of others, and you really want to go somewhere with your shit, you're better off finding someone who knows about photography, who's opinion you can trust, and seems credible and knowledgeable in regards to the photography you're trying to do. Even then, take it with heaping handfuls of salt.
