>>3346927>>3347438Spec wise XP2 is better on all ways, better this and that, muh megapickels, weather proofing, better AF, finally takes decent video, etc.
But there are many people who swear that X-Pro 1's takes better pictures and has that Fuji's analog character that was lost in later more advanced models.
And when speaking about classics, classics aren't always perfect and often have love it or hate it quirks which make them legendary later on. X-Pro1 is far from perfect and that puts off many people who constantly hunt for the biggest compromise to be obsolete in 6 months, *cough* Sony.
The hybrid viewfinder being maybe the most prominent quirk. Whoever wants the experience of looking through it with a retro frame isn't swayed by someone saying it makes the camera too big because that's exactly the camera they want. Someone who only reads spec sheets and is looking at Sonys for the best compromise might but why would you listen to someone who doesn't see the forest for the trees?
And it is possible that X-Pro2 has been made maybe 10 times more than X-Pro1 this making the 1 more rare. Combine that with the myth of more film like pictures it takes and it will be sought after. With the X-Pro3 in near future X-Pro1 may very well already have bottomed out in price and start to appreciate soon as there is a limited supply.
People are buying X-Pro1s in 2018 most likely to use them with adapted vintage lenses so they don't care about AF which was improved with firmware, and people still cry about XP2's slow AF, you can't please those people who think a smallish retro body is meant for high performance action sport photography.
X-Pro1 has affordability, aesthetics, build quality, image quality and that special something. It's a camera that you could easily daily for the next 10 years.
There are better cameras for the money but then again there are nothing even close to it for the money.
