>>3345243I hope this thread gets some traction because I feel like I'm fucking screwed.
I'm a beginner with cameras and I recently got the courage to walk around the city and take pics (of people). I saw some girls twerking in the middle of the sidewalk. I took a couple pics and went on my way.
I get a tap on my shoulder and some middle-aged broad is yelling at me that I was "video-ing" her daughter. She had a phone in her hand and was filming me, and in the confusion I forgot to film with my own camera as evidence.
The woman proceeded to scream in my face, calling me a pervert because apparently the girls were 16 and 17. I had no fucking clue about it and I was just taking pics of anything in public that basically moved.
She insisted that I delete the pictures right now and that she was gonna press charges and get me arrested for sexual misconduct. I panicked, told her to fuck off and that I have the right to use my camera in public and that she has no right to stop me.
I ran home in a hurry, locked myself up in my room, and spent the next half of the day trying to stop the anxiety that was washing over me.
I wish that that's where the story ends but it doesn't.
Turns out the woman lives relatively close to me and has been asking about me to random people. Some people recognized me in the video and pointed her to my neighbourhood. Basically it's only a matter of time before she finds me and the police come knocking.
So I panicked again and deleted the pics. I formatted my camera's SD card several times with random writes and shit just to be sure. But now I'm thinking that might've been a stupid idea because at least the pics proved that I only took a couple of them from a decent distance.
My question now is: am I fucked? Can I get in legal trouble for taking pics of underage people in public, especially while they're twerking? I am anxious as hell and have no idea what the fuck to do. Please help.
