I've yet to see a boomer with a film camera, but plenty with superzoom bridges. Every boomer tog I've met has told me to just use digital.

Why would I desire to be a unique snowflake when I don't even post my work anywhere besides sometimes on the anonymous Indonesian water buffalo breeding club, nor associate with other people besides the barest minimum outside of work. My using film is mostly due to the fact that I can avoid most of the post processing that way. It's the lazy guy's choice, and boy I'm lazy as fuck. Also with my shitty pay it's easier to pay as I shoot rather than saving for years to get a few grands to drop on some decent digital gear only to stare at the bland and miserable looking RAW with no idea what to do with it.

You do realise you don't need crazy expensive gear, right? All I've paid for my Pentax K-5 II and Samyang 35mm F1.4 was 600 euros in total at the time of purchase, it does its job just fine and it has served me for almost 3 years now. Photo related, taken by that combo.

I do have the Oly EM-5II. I tried the "get it right in camera" thing but I pretty much never got what I wanted out of it. Now I use it for occasional casual shooting but mostly leave it at home because it distracts me. My HDD already contains a few thousand digishots I haven't even taken a second look at after importing them.
