>>3348378I only had it for two days so my experience is not enough to recommend or not recommend it. Try to test it yourself.
I currently use a Nikon D7200. Its APS-C, 24mp, 7fps burst, fast autofocus, good DR and great ISO (for crop).
I had the body with the 28-70 kit lens and the Samyang 50mm 1.5 AF.
Autofocus on the 7ii was significant slower. Much more hunting/bumping. Kinda like when I use the rear screen of my DSLR but a little bit better. The main reason why i decided not to by it.
There also was a setting turned on, "Pre autofocus" that drove me crazy with the Samyang. Constantly hunting for focus. Instantly turned it off after I found it in the menu (which btw is totally ok imo.)
I dont know if you can change it but moving single focus point was a pain in the ass compared to my Nikon. Press C1(?) to unlock it, then use the wheel as D-Pad or the upper wheels at the front and back of the grip to move it. Considering the menu wheel, I too turned it by accident and thus changed some settings.
I wanted to write how great IBIS was. That I could get sharp Images with 1/10 shutter easily. But I just took my camera with a VR Kit lens and could even get sharp pictures at a shutterspeed of 1/2 (standing still, holding breath etc). Should have tested IBIS more, damn.
Low light was of course better with a 1.4 than a 1.8(x1.5)=2,7 lens and dof/bokeh much greater.
I had the feeling that auto whitebalance was spot on most of the time (daylight)
What else... I also put the 16-50 APS-C lens on it. Not the greates lens and should be corrected in post but it gave me still great 10mp pictures in crop mode while being incredible small (pic related, camera turned off, lens not extruded). Gave me some lag in the viewfinder while autofocus was focusing.
For me and my small hands the body felt great.
The camera shoots really great pictures, its just the functionalities that did not satisfy me.
