You have to make the claim at the shop you bought the camera from.
And within the first six months after purchase the dealer has to prove that you're responsible for the fault, if he wants to deny the claim.
For the remaining 18 months you have to prove that the damage is fault of the manufacturer.
The dealer can then make a claim at the manufacturer or the wholesaler he bought the product from.
All other warranties are voluntary customer services.
